I think I've finally realized that I'm going to be getting these updates out about once a week now. For now I'll plan on updating every Monday & we'll see how that will work (if anyone is reading this anymore). Well, I've been kicking myself to post something for the past week. The not-so-busy week that I was supposed to have never surfaced. Here's a glimpse at some of the happenings of the Ediger household since my last update ...

EMERIE - Emerie is doing great & getting bigger by the minute! She's sleeping pretty well, also, going for 5-7 hours at night most of the time. It seems like she's having a growth spurt, not just because of the visible difference but also because she's eating more often in the past few days (about 3 hours apart during the day).

Well, I had a GREAT birthday yesterday! It was a nice relaxing day. Hung out with the boys in the morning, surfing the Internet & just relaxing. Andrea had mowed the lawn the night before so I wouldn't have to do it on my birthday (isn't she a great wife!), so I had the luxury of not really having anything that just had to be done. I finished some writing in the afternoon that I had been hoping to get done this week and then Andrea and I went out last night. She had told me earlier in the week that she had "everything taken care of" for the evening & that I didn't have to worry about anything. Then, she totally surprised me!

Okay, I just had to post this! I saw the most hilarious thing on TV last night. It was on FX and it was called "Celebrity Boxing." The show pitted celebrities sparring to raise money for some charity organization. Last night I watched as Danny Bonaduce (Danny Patridge) clobbered Barry Williams (Greg Brady), Todd Bridges (Willis from Different Strokes) pummeled Vanilla Ice, and Tonya Harding won by technical TKO as Paula Jones kept running away from her in the ring. This is definitely "Must-See TV" - watch for the reruns & set the VCR!

This is the second attempt to post this. The first one was prematurely deleted by my Internet browser right before I was about to post it (after typing for about 10-15 minutes)! As it usually goes - this re-typed version is sure to be more condensed than the last (which is probably better for you).

Things are still busy around the Ediger household. The boys are still trying to get over something. Emerie is as cute (and big) as ever! Andrea has been busy writing thank you notes for baby gifts (over 40 or 50 at last count!). And I've been staying up late trying to finish writing some youth curriculum for LifeWay before my end-of-the-month deadline.

Well, Emerie took in her first movie yesterday afternoon. We took the family out for the afternoon to Independence. We went to see "Finding Nemo" as a surprise for the boys. It really was pretty good (although pretty intense - especially at the beginning). Then we went out to eat at Pizza Hut and ended the evening with a trip to the Supercenter.

Today Si had a make-up ballgame and then we took the boys outside for a couple of hours to try out the new golf clubs that their Poppy sent them earlier in the week. We've been waiting for both of them to be well enough & the weather to be good enough to give them to them. Check out some pics in the "Golfing" album [not currently active] in our gallery.

Emerie had her latest check-up with Dr. C today. She weighed a wopping 11 lbs. 2 oz. (she weighed in at a little over 10 lbs. just over a week ago whenever she wasn't feeling good!). She also got her first immunization shot, so Daddy took her to the doctor today (Andrea doesn't like to be around when she get's shots). Everyone else in the Ediger household is doing well. Si is doing much better, & Micah just got off of his medicine. We also disassembled the tent last night and decided to give it some time off after the boys sleeped in it almost everyone rest & night time in the past week.

I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to snap a shot of Emerie sleeping yesterday. She looked so cute and even smiled for me!

Josiah went to the doctor yesterday & has a pretty bad ear infection & poison ivy to boot. Micah, in the mean time, is trying his hardest to pick up his older brother's cough. Emerie is still sniffling a little.

The boys have been having a great time the past couple of days & nights "camping out" in their rooms. The Harbaughs came by to visit on Saturday evening & brought gifts for Emerie & the boys. The boys got a new 2-kid tent, complete with sleeping bag & folding chair. Well, it didn't take long before Josiah was asking if we could set it up that night in their room. Andrea & I remembered that we had bought a play camping set where the pieces (cooking stove, nature sounds box, canteen, etc.) could be put together to make a working lantern. Check out a few pics in the "Camping Out" album [not currently active] in the gallery. We had a little trouble getting them to sleep, but they had a great time!
