More videos of Emerie - showing off some of her words. I didn't post low-bandwidth/dial-up versions of these. Not sure who, if anybody, needs these. If so, please email me and let me know and I would be happy to add them. Otherwise I'll just keep posting the higher bandwidth versions:

Emerie Words - "How Old Are You?" - Broadband Version (460kb WMV)
Emerie Words - "How Old Are You?" - Dial-Up Version (113kb WMV)

UPDATE: I went ahead & uploaded lo-bandwidth versions. Hopefully this will make it easier for some of you to view the videos. Enjoy!

Our Little Graduate

Posted by Chris

Well, Micah has officially finished with preschool as of earlier today. We went to his graduation at the church last night and he had a great time performing. He kept telling people that it was "my special day" and that meant that he could do whatever he wanted (in a cute way)! We went to Dairy Queen afterwards for the celebratory Dilly Bar and then headed back home.

Got some cute video. Took some pics with our non-digital camera as well. Our friend Craig took pictures of Micah with their digital in exchange for my videoing Gracie, their preschooler. I'll post some pics (and hopefully video) when we get those.

Emerie Being Cute

Posted by Chris

Okay, so it just dawned on me that my little girl is getting the spotlight, it seems, when it comes to cute pics/movies on this site. I have video of all of the kids, it just seems that hers winds up getting done first. Of course you could just ask her - "Emerie, what are you?" and she'll tell you the answer: "Daddy's Girl." Here's a short clip of her being her cute self:

Soccer Pictures

Posted by Chris

Josiah had his last soccer game of the season today. The game wound up in a tie, just like last week. I think we have had three ties this season! It was a good game & Si's team really played well. After the game they had snacks and presented everyone with trophies. We snapped a few shots on our unamazing digital camera - you know, the one that takes blurry pictures half the time. Managed to get a few that looked decent & posted them in the gallery tonight.

We finally found time during this busy week to get the pictures from Emerie's 2nd birthday party up in our gallery! The party was great and Emerie was as charming as ever! Our friends Craig & Barbara Webb came over with their kids to spend the day with us. Check out the pictures by clicking the picture on the right on our home page, or by going to http://www.theedigers.com/gallery. Enjoy!

Another Sooner in TN!

Posted by Chris

Got a call from my dad during dinner last night to tell us that Jason White had signed a 2-year contract with the Titans! I'm thrilled for Jason as I know he is such a great guy & a great athlete. He'll have his work cut out for him as he will be competing against three other undrafted QBs for the 3-string QB position here in TN. I think he has what it takes, though, and this would be a great place to develop his NFL skills behind McNair & Billy Volek. McNair has been accident-prone of late & is nearing the end of his career.

White had a three-day private workout with the Chiefs last weekend. But they decided not to sign him. As happy as I would be for him to be a Chief, I think that Tennessee is going to give him the best career path if he can win the job.

Here's the article that was on the front of the Sports section in The Tennessean this morning: Titans give White reason to dream.

I'll continue to post any Sooner news when it comes my way around here (especially with White, Jones, Woofolk & Calmus all in TN now).

Why I Can’t Stand Blockbuster Much Anymore

Posted by Chris

Went to Blockbuster to rent a movie last weekend - something we really hadn't done in a few months, it seems. I've been avoiding going to Blockbuster much recently. Part of this lost desire stems from the whole "No More Late Fees" (but we're going to charge you anyhow because we're a franchise and we can do what we want) campaign that came off around the Super Bowl. No, I didn't get stuck with a mountain of late fees or anything like that. Just urks (sp?) me that they make this huge push and then I have to read a sign posted on the door of the local Blockbuster telling me how they are still charging late fees because they are a Franchise BB and can do what they want, basically.

Then there was the time we went to rent a movie at BB only to find that all they had in stock were the unrated versions of the movie! I couldn't believe it. It was for a very popular comedy that was PG-13, but if I wanted to rent it at BB I would have to get the 'everything goes' version - no thank you. I went to Hollywood Video instead, found plenty of selection of both rated & non-rated to be able to make my own choice, paid about the same rental fee & got to keep the movie for 5 days instead of 2. That's when the tide shifted.

Happy for the Weekend

Posted by Chris

Today was one of those days when I found myself counting down the hours until I got off work. It wasn't a bad day - I was just especially anxious for the weekend to get here. Emerie woke up several times last night. That, coupled with my back waking me up hurting for some reason, made for a very exhausted me.

We don't have any big plans for the weekend - until Sunday, that is. Josiah has a soccer game tomorrow night at 5pm. Then it's church on Sunday morning and Emerie's birthday party in the afternoon. Our friends Craig & Barbara Webb are coming over to be our surrogate family for the day. It should be a lot of fun. I'll make sure I get some good pics and video to post here.

The TiVo Deal that Came & Went

Posted by Chris

I saw something in the paper Sunday that I have never seen before: a 40-hour TiVo from Best Buy for only $199.99![note the sarcastic tone] The $100 rebates that have been a staple for TiVo ever since we bought our first one two and a half years ago (and probably before that) have ended and it now looks like it is going to be some time before they offer any competitive deals like this again. Rumor has it that the company will achieve profitability by year's end if they cut the rest of their marketing budget & make due with the mass of new subscriptions they gained over the past eight months or so in their last huge sales push. It is likely that they will not offer another deal until 2006 when they release their new models (like a standalone HDTV TiVo & Comcast TiVo-fied DVRs).

Makes the recent deal that hit my Inbox look all the bigger - a 140 hour TiVo (the biggest they sell) with one year's subscription for $155! I racked my brain trying to figure out how I could justify adding a third TiVo to the house because of this deal - but I couldn't. Hopefully by the time we need to replace our 2 1/2 year old model comes along there will be another deal on the table. Until then, we'll just have to make do with what we have.

The Same Ole Lesson?

Posted by Chris

I had a chance to give the Monday morning devotional at work this morning. We gather at the front of the floor each Monday morning around 7:30am and have a departmental devotion to kick the week off. I had signed up on the list like three months ago. I honestly thought that four and a half months would be long enough to get settled in & for God to show me some grand new thing that I could pass along to everyone. What happened instead was that God showed me that He was still teaching me the same lesson as He has over the past year.
