Recooperating from Vacation?
Posted by Chris
It's the end of my first week back after spending our first week of vacation in about two years. Last year our vacation time got spent moving to OKC. This year our family (Dad & Cheryl, Lisa & Kenneth & boys) traveled to Nashville & then we all went to Gatlinburg for a few days in the Smokie Mountains. We had a great time! I'll be posting pictures from our vacation in the coming days. It was great seeing everyone, having some time to rest, spending time in the Great Smokie Mountains National Park, etc.
The only drawback (which I will gladly take) is that it has been difficult getting back into the swing of things again at work. I feel like I am just now hiding my stride once again and the work week is almost over! Going from getting up anywhere from 7:30-9:00am each morning back to my daily 5:00am wake-up time has been the hardest, I think. I handle the mornings okay, but the fatigue hits about one or two in the afternoon and I feel drained throughout the day. By the time 8:00 or 9:00 rolls around, I'm spent! Hopefully another weekend will help.
Our friend Alec (from Coffeyville, KS) is flying in tonight to spend the weekend with us. Looking forward to seeing him again & having som 'guy time' on Saturday night. I think we'll probably find some place to eat with good food/good music, of which there is a plethora around here. We'll take the fam out to the zoo or something during the day & then hit the town at night. We'll probably spend Sunday just hanging out at the house, swimming with the kids, etc. Should be fun!
