A Conversation From Taiwan
Posted by Chris
One of the amazing things that I love about my work with LifeWay is that I know the things I work on here are having an international impact. Threads is far reaching beyond just the United States - helping churches all over the world reach out to young adults for Christ.
I've been blessed to carry on a conversation with a new friend from Taiwan this week. She somehow found me on Facebook (still not sure exactly how), and proceeded to send me a somewhat-broken message (her English isn't the best) through my profile there. We've been able to talk about what young adult ministry looks like here in America vs Taiwan. It's been interesting to see both the similarities & the differences. Here's part of our conversation...
Pray for Amanda. Pray that God would use her to touch the lives of young adults in Taiwan. Pray for her ministry through her church, Taichung Banner Church.

"We strongly want to bring new friends to our church, unchurched people here is high... we do outreach once a month, but how to keep people stay is a challenge."
"In my groups, mainly are sisters. Some of them pray to meet the right person at a right time, but we don't see spiritual and mature brothers around our age in our church. Secondly, who have boyfriends, but their boyfriends or family don't agree them to go to church... so, they come secretly and leave."
"I always think, Lord, you use me to touch people, can you touch their hearts quickly and bring them to follow you, because lots of people don't know your name... please in a hurry, rescue them, knowing the calling from you... it seems to me that God has more patience than me..."
