A New View of The Masters
Posted by Chris
I had the incredible opportunity to see The Masters practice round this past Monday with my father-in-law. I'm not sure this would qualify as a 'once in a lifetime' experience - but it is pretty rare. Incredible opportunity, gorgeous golf course. We had a great time.
I don't think I'll ever see The Masters on TV quite the same again. It's one thing to see it on the screen - quite different to see it in person (kind of reminds me of the verse that talks about how what we see now is merely an imperfect reflection of what is to come in heaven one day). Whenever I got home I quickly queued up the TiVo to record all kinds of Masters programming that's on this week (including every round that is televised).
Read a good article, as well, that was running on Yahoo! Sports this morning. It is entitled, "Ten years and counting" and it addresses the lack of african-american involvement in the PGA, even after Tiger Wood's incredible performance in the 1997 Masters & the success he has enjoyed since. I'd highly recommend the read. "Ten Years and Counting" (Yahoo! Sports)
