A Whole New Dora
Posted by Chris
It's been a good day. Had a lot to do at work this morning, but was able to take off a little early when I finished. Of course I actually worked overtime this week due to having to work a little a night to try and keep up with some projects I had. Nevertheless, it was still good to get home early afternoon. Relaxed in the recliner for awhile, until Emerie woke up. Now I'm sitting here posting this while Emerie watches her favorite show, "Dora the Explorer."I tell you, it is a totally new experience having a baby girl after watching both the boys go through this age. When the boys would watch Dora, or Blues Clues, or any number of the other semi-interactive childrens shows that are so popular these days, they would do just that ... sit and watch. Emerie does just about everything but sit there and watch! Just a second ago she was bouncing on the couch (sorry, hon) saying, "I'm dancing! I'm dancing!" When Dora tells her to say something or do something she obeys whole heartedly! So much fun! Glad that it is the weekend. Man, am I glad it is the weekend! I've been needing this all week. Not sure, really, what we are going to wind up doing other than going to church. I don't think I really want to know. I'm going to sleep in (yes, being woken up by the boys at 7am is sleeping in these days - it's two hours later than my normal wake time), sit down with a few cups of coffee and read the paper through. Then play some games with the kids, maybe rent a movie or two - just generally take it easy. I'm sure we'll have this and that to do around the house to get done, but it will be a lot (a LOT) less stressful than the rest of my week has been. Of course next week I've got as many deadlines as I had this week, but I am consciously going to not think about that until I absolutely have to.
Looks like Si is going to probably get baptized during a children's emphasis Sunday a week from now. Looking forward to that. We'll be 'enrolling' in any Wed. night Bible studies this Sunday. I'll be giving blood during a blood drive this Sunday as well. Wish me luck! Last time I gave blood, if you remember, I wound up passing out, hitting the floor hard enough to give myself a mighty headache and a burn across my cheek. Oh, did I mention that it was on Andrea's birthday as well, so our birthday plans were pretty much shot? Yeah, like I said, pray for me! I've been trying to remind myself to eat a big breakfast before I leave to go to church and to limit my coffee intake.
Okay, this post, which started so charmingly, is now wandering off in some weird direction. Have a good weekend, everyone!
