Back in Town

Posted by Chris

Well, we rolled into town around 8:30p tonight. It's amazing how a 6 hour drive to Texas can turn into an 8 hour drive home from Texas. While it wasn't the best thing having to drive down late at night last Thursday (we left town around 6:15p or so), the good part was that the kids slept most of the way. Micah woke up at the Texas state line & stayed awake the rest of the way to Nana's (about an hour and a half longer - starting at around 11:30p/midnight). All the kids woke up when we got there & proceeded to stay awake for at least another hour and a half because they were so excited! It was a good weekend. We enjoyed our time with Andrea's mom, Nancy. We also went to see Andrea's Aunt Emmie (part of Emerie's name sake - the reason we spell it the way we do) on & Uncle Howard on Friday, and went to the Fort Worth Zoo (excellent!) on Saturday.

This week is going to be crazy. I've got some loose ends to tie up tomorrow before I take the youth to Springfield, MO, on Wed/Thurs for a trip. Then it's to Tulsa for our nephew's birthday party(ies). NCAA basketball in-between & after will fill in the rest of the week/end.

Good weekend of basketball last weekend. TiVo in Texas worked great - we were able to FF through most of the games (except Kansas') & just watch the endings (which there were more than enough close games to keep up with). Glad to see Stanford & Kentucky lose - especially KY as this will make the road quite a bit easier for Kansas to return to the Final Four for a third straight year. While I'm not wishing for it, an Oklahoma State loss outside of the Final Four & a Kansas entrance into the semis would put me close to winning our pools! Can't wait to see what happens this weekend!
