Belated Update
Posted by Chris
Well, I've been kicking myself to post something for the past week. The not-so-busy week that I was supposed to have never surfaced. Here's a glimpse at some of the happenings of the Ediger household since my last update ...
EMERIE - Emerie is doing great & getting bigger by the minute! She's sleeping pretty well, also, going for 5-7 hours at night most of the time. It seems like she's having a growth spurt, not just because of the visible difference but also because she's eating more often in the past few days (about 3 hours apart during the day). We dedicated her on Father's Day, which was a special time. It was nice because Gary, Andrea's father, was in town & was able to be there for the dedication. Rich, our pastor, said some nice words and presented Emerie & us with a small New Testament and a certificate.
JOSIAH - Josiah finished up his T-ball schedule last week and is already talking about 'what's next.' He might play soccer in the fall. We'll wait and see. He really enjoyed T-ball & will probably do that again next summer. Micah is equally excited about playing sports next summer. He'll be old enough for "Blast Ball" (precursor to T-ball designed to help them learn the basics) next summer.
MICAH - Micah is getting taller & slenderer (is that a word?) as the weeks go by. We think he'll probably be taller than his older brother. His speech is getting much easier to understand and he's begun talking in more complete sentences. You can actually carry on a conversation (to a point) with him now!
Both the boys went to Vacation Bible School all last week & had a great time. This year's theme "The Great Kingdom Caper" was fun & our sanctuary was transformed into London, complete with Big Ben, store fronts, & our own Rich Jenkins as "Sherlock Hemlock." They're both still very into their baby sister - getting excited whenever "Emerie's eyes are open!" (they go running to tell the other one when she wakes up) & always asking "I want to see Emerie." It's good to see them so excited - hopefully it will last!
ANDREA - Andrea has begun her work again. She works for a friend of ours who owns an Internet business. It's great because she can work whenever she wants & from our our home. She helped Cheryl Jenkins lead worship this past week at VBS. It was fun to watch them leading 80-110 children in worship - something I could see them teaming up to do on a more regular basis possibly someday (they were so good at it!). Andrea followed up her birthday surprise for me with another one this past Saturday night at the church. She invited several couple friends of ours as well as my dad & Cheryl. She also got coffee, cheesecakes, & Neiman Marcus cookies from our local Christian coffee house ("The Kings Coffee Co." in Dearing, KS). I came over to the church thinking I was going to be helping Rich with something & walked into the surprise party! It was great. I told everyone that the longer Andrea & I are married the better she gets at lying to me! I think this was only the 3rd time since we've been married that she's successfully surprised me with something (and twice in one week!).
CHRIS - I had a great birthday. With the money I received from some gifts & through selling some stuff on Ebay, I was able to buy a new guitar. I've been looking forward to getting one for quite a while & will be able to use it to help lead worship at the church. As of this morning I have officially lost 25 lbs. through Weight Watchers! I'm only 5 lbs. away from my target wait! Yeah!
Well, I think that about wraps things up. Sorry for the length of the post. I guess that's what I get for waiting so long.
