Day and Night

Posted by Chris

What a day! I'd have to say that yesterday definitely ranked as one of the best I've ever had. God couldn't be more gracious to us. Immediately after Emerie arrived we got to hold her & look at her. That was a first. With the boys there was so much concern from them being so early (Si - 34 weeks, Micah - 36 weeks) that they promptly wisked them away to monitor them. Andrea didn't even get to hold Josiah until 10 hours after he was born! I couldn't begin to compare the differences this time around because they are so numerous. It was so great to have Emerie with us all day. I think they only took her away a couple of time - to wash her hair, etc. But for the rest of the time she was with us - which was wonderful!

Well, those of you who live in the Kansas/Oklahoma area know that a leisurely day spent with our new daughter & our many visitors, turned into a nervous night of watching & waiting for thunderstorms and tornados to pass. We didn't even realize that the storms were headed our way until a couple of hours before it hit Coffeyville. Actually, it seems to have just skirted us, but just barely. They had all of the mothers/babies in a small hallway, just in case a tornado struck. It was a very nerve-wracking half hour or so waiting to see what would happen. In the end, Coffeyville got little more than a brief downpour of rain.
