Sitting at Will's Cafe, my bi-weekly Thursday morning destination for a referral club I'm in. I usually hang out for 1-1 1/2 hours after we're through meeting (we meet from 7-8a) to work because they I like the atmosphere, they play good music, and they offer free WiFi Internet access. This morning we were in the middle of our meeting when we turn & see former Congressman J.C. Watts walk through the door! Our jaws dropped as it was a little surreal for a minute. He is speaking here for some kind of breakfast/conference they are having in the attached theatre. Too cool! I think it's a little ironic that a great OU sports legend walks through the room just two days before the Red River Shootout! (Boomer Sooner!)

On my way in this morning they were talking about the big game (a couple of the DJs are OU fans - even played the fight song). They had a guest call in - a Texas fan - who played the Texas fight song through his cell phone on the air. The DJ just sat there & said a few amusing remarks while it played & then when it was through she said, "It's a good thing you played it today because you won't get a chance to play it this weekend!" Ha! Can't wait for Saturday!

UPDATE: I got up the nerve to walk up to J.C. Watts as he was getting set to leave the coffee shop. I asked him for an autograph & thanked him for his years of service to our country & for living his faith out. One more thing ... I asked him if he was ready for the big game and he said, "Oh, yeah!"
