Iced In

Posted by Chris

Woke up to iced roads this morning. Actually knew it was coming. They've been talking about the possibility of snow & ice all week. We didn't get any snow (at least not on the ground), but it was sleeting when we went to bed last night.

I was only supposed to work half a day today, so it's not like I missed much. That & the fact that almost everyone in my department was already gone for the holidays & will be for another week or so due to vacation days. It was a good first full (sort of) week. Had orientation last week & department orientation on Monday. Tuesday I started work on the website & have a project to work on over the holidays. I am thoroughly excited about this job & I know I'm going to wind up loving working for http://www.lifeway.com! Great company, great people to work with & great work to do that I love. We took the morning off & relaxed. After lunch we got busy working on the house - continuing to unpack & get things in order. Installed a closet organization system in Emerie's closet, finished hanging towel bars in the main bathroom & began preparing our bathroom for work on it tomorrow. We'll begin painting in a couple of weeks, but not until we get the boxes unpacked.

Thought I would take a break & post something here. I know that now more than ever this web site is a link to a lot of people in our life as we don't have many people around here. We've already begun meeting new people & making new friends. Joy Emery & family watched the kids for us while we closed on the house last week. She is one of my editors that I have written for in the past (& present). We'll likely get together with her family in the coming weeks. Another couple that we have met & are looking forward to getting to know is Craig & Barbara Webb. Craig is the Internet Producer for the Pastoral Ministries section of LifeWay.com. Barbara was our realtor who helped us get into this house. They invited us over for dinner on Christmas Eve. We're going over to their house late afternoon & then going to a Christmas Eve Communion service at a church afterwards.

God has been SO faithful - I don't feel that I can say that enough. We have experienced His providence and sovereignty in our lives the past couple of months more than ever before in our lives in many ways. It's exciting knowing how much He cares & looking forward with anticipation to what He has prepared around the corner!

Keep in contact with us - our email address is the same & is probably the easiest way to reach us. For our friends in OKC - use the "Subscribe" link on the right of the home page to add your email address to our email list. You'll then receive an email update the morning after whenever we post something here - so you can keep up with the Ediger household.

We love you all so much & wish you a Merry Christmas for your & your families! May you know the love of our Savior as we celebrate His birth!
