Now for the reason I haven't been posting much here for the last several weeks...

Well, for many of you this will come as no surprise as we've been about the business of sharing with many here in Nashville about our upcoming move. I wanted to post something here, though, to share with the rest of you what God is about in our lives right now. This journey has been a long one in a lot of respects and I don't want to bore you with all of the details, so I'll try my best to just bring out the big points. Last spring a good friend of ours called and began talking to us about the possibility of coming to work for a company he owned, GiANT Impact. Andrea has known Jeremie since 3rd grade and they grew up being best friends. I've enjoyed getting to know Jeremie over the course of our marriage, especially over the last several years. He and his family were involved at Bridgeway, the church we were a part of in OKC when we lived there in 2004, and I worked with him some while working for Multiply.

In February GiANT bought out several companies which were begun by John Maxwell - INJOY, Catalyst, Maximum Impact & others. Jeremie moved to Atlanta (where those companies were headquarted) in April and called me shortly thereafter to talk with me about the possibility of working with them & helping them oversee their Internet development.

We prayed and talked for several weeks, but wound up feeling like the timing wasn't right. Several months later the door opened again and we decided to talk with GiANT and see what God was about. After several months of prayer and meeting the people at GiANT/seeing how God was using the company to have Kingdom impact in the marketplace, we knew that God was calling us to step out and 'chase the lion' (any Mark Batterson fans out there?).

Shortly after the beginning of the year we will be moving to Atlanta, GA. My last day at LifeWay is the 4th and my last day at the church is the 13th. I will begin work at my new job that following week. I will be overseeing all of their websites, online marketing & Internet development. It is an opportunity that we are excited about and looking forward to seeing what God has for our family in this new adventure.

As with any move, we are stepping out in faith to follow Him, and with the excitement comes sadness - having to leave so many that we have become close to here. When we moved out to Nashville three years ago we really believed we would be planting deep roots and seeing our kids grow up as Tennesseans. LifeWay and Gladeville have both been wonderful places to work and places where I could have seen myself serving for years to come. My department, in my opinion, is one of (if not the) best environments to work in from within an already great company. Gladeville is a church family that has been a joy to not only be a part of, but also to serve in ministry within. We just could not have asked for greater blessings than what God has blessed us with over the last three years.

We'd appreciate all of your prayers in the coming weeks/months as we make this transition. We've found a house in Suwanee, GA, and are in the process of trying to sell our home here in Nashville. This is probably the greatest prayer need right now. Pray also that our family will make new friends quickly and that we would find a church home that we can be a part of.

I'll post updates here as we know them, including our new contact info when all of that happens. Other blog posts may come few & far between - depending on how much time I have. Seems like almost all of our free time has been spent lately getting the house ready (or keeping the house ready for showing).
