Working Break
Posted by Chris
Well, let's just say that today didn't wind up being anything like I had imagined it would be. Let's count the ways...
- Found out yesterday that a project at work was much more involved than I had suspected, and since I procrastinated until the end of the week (in addition to being behind from my Masters trip last week) I was happily (sarcastic) having to work on it at home last night... and this morning... and this afternoon... and now (except for these few minutes that I'm taking a break)
- We decided to paint the downstairs this weekend, which, of course, was a decision we made before I realized my work project dilemmas... Andrea's time working on the painting job = probably 7-8 hours now, Chris' = more like 1-2 (I did help patch some holes, re-route an electrical cord to our furnace and a few other things - mainly last night
- It rained. Happened yesterday, too. Happened some the day before as well. Rain is nice, don't get me wrong, just has a habit of changing plans, like...
- One out of two soccer practices last night rained out... both games rained out today - hooray! Except... #1 + #2 + #3 = Andrea & I with lots to do, basement off-limits, for the most part, from dogs & kids, & kiddos stuck inside on a rainy day - all of which adds up to an upstairs pretty much in shambles from the kids playing all day.
- Clean up tonight - we took a brief break from respective work and ate dinner together with the kids, talked with my dad & Cheryl on the phone (who'll be here in 3 weeks! Yeah!), and helped clean up the house a little (including cleaning the hamster & mouse cages - oh, don't think I've mentioned the two newest members of the Ediger household - different post for a different day)
That's it. Not horrible, just definitely a twist in what I thought we'd be doing this weekend. Now it's back to work and try and get a good night's sleep (with hopefully no work project left to do tomorrow!).
